On Saturday, August 23, 2008, Fr. LeRoy
"Chris" Gardner, fondly known to the people as "Fr. Chris", spoke his ordination vows before
the Most Rev. Walter Grundorf, Presiding Bishop of the Anglican Province of America, who then pronounced the Sacred Words, "Receive the Holy Ghost for the Office and Work of a Priest in the Church of God......". Fr. Chris first served as curate at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Riverview, Florida, where he was ordained to the priesthood and is giving his first blessing to a parishioner of St. Matthew's Fr. Chris is currently serving as
Assistant Priest at Anglican Church of the Redeemer, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Refreshments
We invite and welcome all visitors and invite you to stay and visit with us after the services. There will be a coffee and felllowship hour in the narthex after the 10:00 a.m. service on Sundays, for those who would like to stay and visit. Please sign our guest register in the narthex with your name and address, so we can acknowledge your visit.
Christmas Eve Service each year
There will be a Family Christmas Eve service each year on December 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Propers
No Gloria is said during Advent, Pre-Lent and Lent. Nunc dimittis is used instead during these periods. |

Service Times
The service times at Anglican Church of the Redeemer located at 1 Mathews Dr, Suite 101, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, effective Nov 1, 2009, is being chnaged to one service at 10:00 A.M. with Traditional Holy Communion Service on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month and Morning Prayer Service with Holy Communion on the 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month.
Wednesday Night Healing Service
A Wednesday night Healing and Holy Eucharist service has been added at Church of the Redeemer. The service is at 6:30 p.m on Wednesday nights. The service includes prayers for healing and anointing with Holy Oil. There will no Healing Service on the 3rd Wednesday of each month but will have a fellowship hour/soup supper at 5:30 p.m. and Bible Study at 6:30 p.m. Services for Nov are Nov, 4, and Oct 25, and Soup Supper/Bible Study on Nov 18. No service on Nov 11 due to clergy conference for Fr. Chris in St. Augustine, FL.

Blessing of the Animals
In honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, a blessing of the animals will be held by Fr. Chris Gardner on Oct 17, 2009, from 1-3 p.m. at Anglican Church of the Redeemer Fr. Chris will also hold a blessing of the animals at the Dog Park, Sun City, SC, on Oct 24 at 10:30 a.m. All animals will receive a blessing certificate and a medal of St. Francis to commemorate the day. New Calendar on Redeemer's Website
A new calendar page has been developed for Church of the Redeemer's website. You can link to Traditional Ordo Calendars for Morning or Evening Prayer, as well as Church of the Redeemer's very own events calendar to see when services and events are taking place.
Give a Lenten Gift of Sight
Last year the APA conducted a Lenten appeal in order to fund the operation and support of the Anglican Charitable Eye Hospital in Giddahar, India. The appeal was so successful that the APA churches were able to fund operations for the whole year. Once again for this Lenten season, Bishop Grundorf is encouraging APA churches to do it again this year. For $40, you can give someone the gift of sight. You can donate online at www.anglicanprovince.org or donate at church. For 2009, the APA distributed $63,000 to foreign missions: Haiti $11,294;Bible Women $1,404; Anglican Eye Clinic $15,257 and India $42,126 are some of the distributions.

National Day of Prayer
National Day of prayer this year is on May 6, 2010. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. So join everyone on this day to pray that God will continue to shed His grace upon us and use this time to pray four our Government, Military, Churches and Families. Pray for all those on our prayer list and all other who need our special touch and tender care. On Ember days pray for all our clergy, seminarians and others who are preparing the ministry.
Clergy Conference
A Clergy Conference is going to be held in St. Augustine, FL, Nov 11-12, 2009, where the theme and discussion will be on church growth and updating the strategic plan.
Suffragan Bishop
At the 42nd Annual Diocese of the Eastern United States, Anglican Province of America, in Orlando, FL, in June 2010, we will be voting on a new Suffragan Bishop.

Church of the Redeemer is located at the intersection of Beach City Rd and Mathews Dr. From Bluffton take Hwy 278 across the bridge to the traffic light of Beach City Rd, make a left hand turn and stay in the right hand lane and make a right on Mathews Dr, then a left in the Mathews Pointe North Complex.
Society of St. Anthony
Fr. Michael L. Ward of St. Mark's Church in Vero Beach, FL, has been working on a General Rule of the Society of St. Anthony, which has been provisionally constituted by the Most Rev'd Walter H. Grundorf, Anglican Province of America on December 4, 2008. The society is open to all clergy and laity. Fr. Ward can be reached at 772-563-0450.

Passion Sunday on March 21, 2010. Palm Sunday on March 28, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. Maundy Thursday Service and stripping of the altar on April 1, 2010. Good Friday Service on April 2, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. with Meditations of the Cross from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and Easter services on April 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
Mother's Day
May 9, 2010 is Mother's Day. The modern Mother's Day holiday was created by Anna Jarvis as a day for each family to honor its mother and its now celebrtaed on various days in many places around the world. It complements Father's Day, the celebration honoring fathers. This is a day where you see sports figures on TV say, "I love you Mom". This is enough to brings tears to anyone's eyes. Father's Day is June 20, 2010.

DEUS Fall Woman's Retreat 2009

DEUS Publications and the Diocese of the Eastern United States are pleased to bring you their very first offering: a personal edition of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. DEUS Synod 2010
The Diocese of the Eastern United States, Anglican Province of America Synod for 2010 will be held June 7-11, in Orlando, FL. Hotel being will be Holiday Inn Select, 12125 High Tech Ave, Orlando, FL 32817; 407-275-9000. Room rate for 2 will be $89.00 plus tax, which includes a full buffet breakfast.
